Feeding & Developmental Care

We can help establish healthy feeding patterns, offer support in oral motor development, and assist in transitioning from breast/bottle to solids. Thumb sucking, colic, lots of spit up? Give your office a call!
Adult Feeding Therapy
Difficulty swallowing can lead to several issues, including coughing or throat clearing during or immediately after eating or drinking. You may also notice a wet or gurgly voice during or after meals, require extra effort or time to chew or swallow, experience food or liquid leaking from your mouth, or have food getting stuck.

Swallowing disorders can be caused by various factors, including stroke, brain injury, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, neurological disorders, cancer in the mouth, throat, or esophagus, or injuries and surgeries involving the head and neck. Our speech-language pathologists have expertise in managing swallowing disorders for adults and adolescents. They apply a variety of compensatory techniques and direct treatment strategies to enhance safety during eating and drinking, ultimately improving the quality of life for their patients.
Tie Recovery and Normalization of Feeding and Swallowing
We understand that both infants and mothers face emotional and physical challenges during the recovery process post-tongue tie release (TT). It can be difficult to find knowledgeable and accessible support during this crucial time. Our service provides a progressive, multi-phase approach to support the infant-mother dyad from the moment of release through key developmental milestones, up to 12 months of age.
What We Offer
- Pre-Release Care: We start with a baseline evaluation and parent education to prepare for the release. This ensures everyone is ready and informed.
- Post-Release Support: In the weeks following release, we help establish healthy feeding patterns, address latch issues, and guide oral motor development to prepare for the transition to solids. This includes weekly check-ins to support recovery and long-term feeding success.
- Focus Areas: Our approach covers everything from re-establishing good latch and posture to guiding the transition from breast/bottle feeding to table foods.
